In the era of rapid technological advancements brought by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, traditional pedagogical methods are increasingly being challenged to adapt to new educational needs. This paper explores the integration of toy-based pedagogy into teacher education as a means to address these challenges and enhance holistic development in students. Toy-based pedagogy, which utilizes play and tangible learning tools, offers a unique approach to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among students. By examining the theoretical foundations and practical applications of toy-based learning, the paper highlights its potential to mitigate the negative effects of technology-driven education, such as diminished emotional intelligence and reduced cultural engagement. Through a review of existing literature, the paper demonstrates how incorporating indigenous and traditional toys into teacher training can create more engaging, inclusive, and sustainable educational environments. The findings suggest that toy-based pedagogy not only enriches the teaching process but also prepares educators to better navigate the complexities of modern education. Ultimately, this approach offers a promising pathway to reimagine and rejuvenate teacher education, ensuring that it remains relevant and effective in the digital age. In this context the paper highlights some suggestive measures for including toy-based pedagogy in teacher education curriculum.
