Sustainable Development Goal 4 has emphasized on quality education. The development of a nation relies on the quality of education imparted to their children who will lead the country forward. This demand reform in the sphere of leadership practices, school culture to improve school effectiveness. India adopted Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) in 2015 with the aim of "ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all" by 2030 (NEP, 2020). A single mind of school principal is not enough to attain such goals stated by Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4). This could not be attained without co-constructed leadership. It is because when leadership is co-constructed, the effectiveness of school improves automatically. Hence, teacher leadership is the need of the hour to attain the goals of SDG 4. This paper is an attempt toward discussing how teacher leadership is a valuable pathway for achieving SDG4.
