The present study aims to explore the level of teachers' professional attitudes and their happiness on teaching. Both male and female teachers of higher secondary schools from rural and urban areas have been selected as the sample of the study. Relevant information were collected from the randomly selected teachers by using Umme Kulsum's Attitude Scale Towards Teaching Profession (ASTTP) having four alternative responses of fifty five items by keeping no significant difference between the teachers of opposite two sexes of fifty four government and private secondary schools of the seven districts of Manipur. The scores of the collected data has been quantitatively analysed by using t-test. It is also believes that the positive attitudes help the teachers to be role model for the future generation of students. Even the private higher secondary school teachers have low salary than the government secondary school teachers; it is assumed that they have more favourable attitudes in their profession than the government higher secondary school teachers.
