In this era of digital resources, cyber ethics are crucial to the security and confidentiality of information. Protecting against data breaches, illegal access, and a secure digital space requires an understanding of cyber ethics. Cyber ethics encompasses such values like: respecting other’s opinion, upholding public interest, appropriate online behaviour and not violating the law. The present study examines the awareness level of cyber ethics among undergraduate students in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh. The focal points of the study are: undergraduates’ understanding of ethical online behavior and decision-making abilities in cyberspace. A descriptive survey method was employed in the present study and cyber ethics awareness scale was used by the researcher to collect the data from 200 undergraduate students (100 male & 100 female) from arts (108) and science (92) stream. The scale assessed the purpose of internet utilization, understanding of cyber ethics, issues associated with computer ethics, factors inhibiting adherence to cyber ethics and need of cyber ethics education. Data analysis and hypotheses testing was done through statistical techniques. The study’s findings indicate that there is moderate level of awareness among undergraduate students with significant variations depending on academic background and gender. The study recommends that there is a greatly need to raise the awareness about cyber ethics and it should be an integral part of the curriculum.
