Distance education systems are progressing in India. However, research in this mode of education is limited. There is a needfor conducting research on distance education since it provides the empirical data, which data can use for the development of the systems. The present study was undertaken on the Distance Education Program. Main objects of the study were to understand and to study the effectiveness of the DEP of educational achievement in Mathematics subject in standard six. The population of the study was students of the primary schools. The study was an experimental a type with ''two groups' only post test experimental design ". 'Purposive Sampling' technique was adopted. The unit tests for the std-6for Mathematics were used to collect the relevant data. Data was analyzed by the t-test and it was found that the Distance Education Program (DEP) was effective for the std-6. Similarly, DEP was also effective for the boys and girls ofstd-6.1 lowever, DEP was not effective on the factors like genders and areas of the students.
